Happy Monday everyone. Today’s post is short, sweet and to the point. I want to discuss the motto of my design firm, Tia Spaulding Interiors. My motto is simple: I design homes for everyday living. In fact, it’s right there, displayed prominently on my home page.
You may be asking yourself what is design for everyday living. I’ll be happy to explain that to you. I came to adopt this motto based on the wants and needs of my clients. My clients are busy professionals who desire to live in the home of their dreams. They not only want a beautiful home but they also want a home that is comfortable and one that fits their lifestyle. They are not trendy and don’t want a home just filled with stuff. My clients want their home to be filled with things that speak to who they are and tell their story. They are also not interested in living in a “show house”, they live intentionally and want to enjoy every square foot of their home. They don’t just put their treasures on display, they enjoy them frequently. This means not reserving that heirloom china just for special occasions.
Simply put, interiors designed for everyday living are those that are:
- Livable and comfortable
- Warm, welcoming, and inviting
- Functional for the lifestyle of those who live in them
- Timeless and feel collected
- Not designed to look like a shelter magazine, catalog, or show house. They are designed for real life
Is your home designed for everyday living? If not, I can help you with that. I would like to get to know all about you and your family and how you live. Your favorite colors. Your favorite vacation spots. What you love to do for fun and leisure. Love entertaining and hosting family and friends at your home? What inspires you? From there I will create a custom-tailored design for your home. Visit our contact page, fill out the form, and I’ll contact you to set up a complimentary 30-minute phone consultation.

I totally agree!

There’s a lot to be said for practicality. Living in a magazine ready space can get exhausting.
Tia Spaulding says
I agree Darla. It’s OK to have a beautiful space filled with beautiful things. However, what’s the use if you never actually enjoy those things?
Sarah says
Love the explanation of your motto. I agree that people should live in their homes and really enjoy the spaces.

This is the only way I can live. Who wants to live in a museum where you’re afraid to touch anything?
Tia Spaulding says
Chandra, I agree, life is worth living!
Dixie says
Love your motto! Practicality is practically my middle name. Real people need real homes that work for the way they live.
