Happy New Year, I hope that you all enjoyed the holidays. It’s a new year and time for a fresh start. I love the beginning of the year because it allows me to reflect on the previous year and plan for the year ahead.

2019 Theme Phrase
I’ve even created a theme phrase for 2019. In 2019, I’m Re-Designing My Life! I figured since I’m in the process of re-designing my home, it was only fitting for my phrase for this year to be Re-Designing My Life. My focus this year is my business and my personal life.
Business

I’ve got some big plans for my business and I want to try some new things this year. I’ll be adding some additional services and refining the services I currently offer. The name of the game for my business this year is to hustle and to hustle as hard as I can. Of course, I’ll also be sharing helpful content here on the blog and in my monthly newsletter. Are you subscribed to my monthly newsletter? If not, you’re missing out on a wealth of design tips and more. You can sign up by clicking here.
Personal

My personal life will be getting the biggest overhaul. For the past few years, I’ve been existing on auto-pilot. I haven’t been living to my fullest potential. I’ve just made everyone a priority but myself. Like many other women, as a wife and a mother, I’ve put myself on the back burner. My husband and my kids have been my whole life. This year I’m committed to giving myself the attention that I deserve. This doesn’t mean that I’m abandoning my family. What it means is that I can’t be the wife and mother that I need to be if I don’t take care of myself.
I’m so proud to say that I got started with this before the holidays. It started with me scheduling to have a mammogram and an annual physical. This was huge for me because again, I’ve been putting everyone before myself. I’m grateful to God that my test results showed that I’m in good health. However, I still have improvements I need to make.

Therefore, this year I’ll be focusing on the spiritual, physical, and mental areas of my life. I’ve made a bucket list of things that I want to do for fun this year. Some of these things I’ve been wanting to do for years but didn’t for whatever reason.
I also plan to start putting better food in my body and get back to exercising regularly. I lost some weight last year, but my plan is to lose even more this year. In fact, I joined Weight Watchers in November to help get me started.
I want to learn to clear my mind and meditate. I’ll also be reading lots of inspirational and self-help books this year. If you have any recommendations, drop them in the comment box below. Lastly, I must improve my spirituality and find a church home.
House of Spaulding

I want to finally create a home for us. For the past 4 and half years, we’ve been renting properties and none of them ever felt like home. We went from living in the same home for 8 years (that we built) to living out of our element. Don’t get me wrong, we were still blessed because we had a roof over our heads. However, to me, there is nothing like owning your own home. Now that we have purchased a home, it’s time for me to do one of the things that I do best and that’s to create a beautiful home.
So, as you can see, I have set some very intentional goals for 2019. How about you, have you set some goals for this year? My hope is that you spend this year living because life is a gift. We are all so busy and have so much on our plates that we can forget to take the time to just enjoy life. So, carve out some time this year to do some things that will bring you joy. Stop living vicariously through people on social media and get out and start living. Get out there and create the life you’ve been dreaming of. Here’s to living our best lives in 2019!
