Happy Monday guys, here’s hoping that you have a fantastic week. In my last post, I gave you an update on what’s been going on in my world. I told you about me finishing school, that my new website will be launching soon, and about my first trip to High Point Market.
My first trip to High Point was a huge success. I had an amazing time and I can’t wait to go back in October for fall market. If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook, I shared a few pictures while at market. The showrooms are just as amazing in person as I imagined and boy do they feed you well. High Point Market is like New York fashion week for the interior design industry. High Point is the largest furniture trade show in the world so people come from near and far to attend.
While there I spotted some trends that I’m positive you will see in design magazines, retail stores, and spaces designed by interior designers. Let’s go over a few, shall we?
Gold
Gold has been having a moment for a while now and based on what I saw at market it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. I noticed both gold and muted brass finishes in many showrooms. From wall sconces, hardware, furniture, picture framing, lighting, and more gold was on full display.
Black
Black is a sophisticated and timeless color. It’s a classic that will never go out of style in fashion and interiors. There was also a lot of black and white featured.

Notice the blush in the wall art by Soicher Marin. See more blush below.
Blush Pink
I believe I started to notice the blush trend around fall of 2016 and I predict that it will still be a much used color this year. This color adds just the right amount of femininity to a room.

Notice the pink walls and the pink in the wall art. You’ll also notice black, white, and gold in the furniture and decor.
Statement Lighting
The right light fixture can be used to add a wow factor to a room and it can also be used as a focal point. There were some amazing statement light fixtures displayed at a some of my favorite showrooms.

I get Miami vibes with this chandelier from Cyan Design

This stunner from Currey and Company reminds me of a sexy black dress.
Nail Head
I spotted quite a bit of furniture pieces with nail head trim.

This chic crib reminds me of a high end boutique in Paris. It was an absolutely beautiful piece in person.
Honorable Mention
I am a fan of the show Fixer Upper so it was only fitting that I stopped by the Magnolia Home showroom. This showroom encompasses Joanna’s style and you can tell that she had been there to give it her own personal touch.
Well friends, I hope you enjoyed my High Point spring market recap. I literally took hundreds of pictures and I truly enjoyed this event. All of the showrooms I visited had wonderful staff that went out of the way to make us feel welcomed. I look forward to working with many vendors at High Point in the future.
